Born in the Montreal-Nord borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Omayela began developing his many talents from a young age through various means, including busking on the streets. It was in Montreal that years later, he grew into the multi-disciplinary artist he is today and his artistic persona, Omayela, was born. Omayela is a lover of the arts in almost every capacity, he loves visual mediums such as graphic novels and manga comics while also appreciating performance-based art forms such as music and stand-up comedy. Despite being heavily inspired by legendary artists such as Nina Simone, The Beatles, The Wu-Tang-Clan, Biggie and the overall influences of the modern Hip-Hop era, Omayela’s originality truly sets him apart. Omayela is a creative force, finding ways to incorporate distinct themes, concepts and a slew of other varied artistic mediums into his releases, setting him apart from his peers and drawing people into his universe.
