OMBRE ZION was born in Pikine, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal. He grew up in a family of music enthusiasts, surrounded by the sounds of reggae. Drawn to Ragga Muffin from a young age, he began his journey by covering popular Jamaican hits of the era, swiftly honing his skills in both singing and toasting.
His artistic path began during middle school when he teamed up with two friends to form the group SKM in 1998. In 2005, Ombre Zion shifted his focus to a solo career, marking his debut performances. As an eclectic artist, he seamlessly blends various genres, including reggae, dancehall, afrobeat, soul, R&B, hip-hop, and traditional Senegalese music. His distinctive style has led to numerous collaborations, both within Senegal and on the international stage.
Having graced major stages across West Africa, Canada, Spain, Brussels, and Paris, Ombre Zion is now based in Europe to continue his musical journey.
