Formed in late 2023 (formally known as Ruiness), OMINESS is a gothic bruja doom metal band emerging from the depths of the underground scene based out of Ohlone land, also known as Oakland, CA. OMINESS’ lyrics are threaded with themes of decolonization, feminist rage, queer and fat liberation - with Mexican Catholic undertones inspired by the singer’s upbringing; more, the struggles endured by organized religion and machismo. Latina feminine rage is poured through agonizing banshee wails and darkened sultress vocals. With sludgey, somber, gazey guitars, and a gargantuan rhythm section - the sounds of ominess magick will lure any creature out of the shadows.

OMINESS partnered with Transylvanian Recordings label in June 2025 and will be re-releasing their debut EP (originally released in 2024) re-recorded/remastered, with an additional, new song - making it their very first release of physical media.
