One Against the Grain is a solo project by indie artist Dave Kneeves which covers the areas between hard rock and metal. A guitar virtuoso influenced by guitar greats such as <a href="spotify:artist:32Jb1X3wSmmoHj2epZReZA" data-name="Steve Vai">Steve Vai</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5DpSoH5zCXNRqYai7pmcGG" data-name="Yngwie Malmsteen">Yngwie Malmsteen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4zvIE8a1h7L0IED4r4qKk1" data-name="John Petrucci">John Petrucci</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:2aaLAng2L2aWD2FClzwiep" data-name="Dream Theater">Dream Theater</a>) and <a href="spotify:artist:30zUsm3wVZOXpdlGPPUu12" data-name="Chuck Schuldiner">Chuck Schuldiner</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:4f5V3PQ66nIrBCqugJtaGn" data-name="Death">Death</a>), Dave also bring many years of songwriting talents to the project.
In 2006 the first album High Performance was released as an independent release under the Online Bands Music label. The 11 song CD was recorded at Axe Bade Studio and covered areas of hard rock and metal.
In 2018, a long awaited follow up album titled Under a Raven's Wing was released with 11 new songs recorded at PowerLust Productions, Oakhill Studio and Online Bands Studio. All songs were written, performed and produced by Dave with production help from Evil E at PowerLust Productions, Mike Katchmark at Oakhill Studio and Joe Purrenhage at Online Bands Studio. Additional keys provided by Mike Katchmark and Joe Purrenhage.
