One Buck Short sparks proper comeback with "Pita Hati", their first single in 13 years.
“PITA HATI” was the main soundtrack for UMobile’s 2024 Hari Raya Film of the same name and currently holds more than 2 million views.
This first single marks the start of an 8-10 song album for the band.
One Buck Short will release “Pita Hati”, their first single in thirteen years on the 26th of April with a music video embodying the essence of the story of the 2 million viewed Raya Film of the same name.
The single is a departure from their usual pop punk sound revealing a more mature sound. When asked about the change, the band responded with “The essence remains, think of it as an evolution of sound for us, One Buck Short. It’s not a new sound, but it’s a new sound for us. We are still writing about what we enjoy and where we feel comfortable, and this single is what we are at the moment.”
“Pita Hati” marks the first release of a planned 8-10 song album from the band and was earmarked as the soundtrack to accompany Umobile’s Hari Raya film for 2024 which was released a few days before raya.
The band still remains with their original line up from 21 years ago with (Mooky) Mundzir Abdul Latif (Lead Vocals), (Narmi) Imran Fadzil Ishak (Drums / Vocals), Rahul Kukreja (Lead Guitars / Vocals), and Izal Azlee Zainal Abidin (Bass / Vocals).
