One Finger Riot is a solo project of Los Angeles based artist Faris McReynolds. Started in 2009, it is an outlet for experimental songs that don't fit into any single genre, blending elements of synth pop, post-punk, noise, shoegaze, electronic dance, and alternative rock music.

One Finger Riot's restless collision of styles explores themes of alienation, control, and the quiet absurdity of modern life. Drawing from the the nervous energy of punk, the introspective haze of lo-fi electronics, and synth pop maximalism, One Finger Riot doesn’t settle into a single genre. Instead, it operates in the in-between, capturing a moment just before something breaks or shifts, holding listeners in that unstable space between control and collapse.

Songs often feel like transmissions from a half-broken system: there’s a deliberate tension between precision and decay, where tightly arranged structures are constantly threatening to come apart.
