A creative outlet, a refuge, a source of inspiration, a place to learn and grow. One For August was born in 2018. Though he didn’t know it at the time, pro drummer, Matt Billingslea, set about learning production and songwriting and ended up finding a muse worth exploring. The first collection of songs, trickling out in 2025, have been written and recorded over the past 3-4 years, largely on his own and largely at his home studio, The Workshop. These songs represent a start - an exploration of past experiences and present thought. The debut single, ‘Don’t Walk Away’ comes out May 2, 2025.
