Onur Yürüten is a storyteller who bridges experimental ambient music and speculative imagination. A lifelong musician with roots in classical training and progressive rock performance, he now composes cinematic soundscapes that blend neoclassical piano and strings with glitch electronics, spirituality, and tribal rhythms. Their music is haunting, immersive, and deeply human. A requiem for fragile minds in a technological world.
Originally from Ankara, Turkey and based in Switzerland since 2012, Yürüten has been playing music for over 30 years. After formal training with ABRSM certifications in classical music, they explored guitar and keyboards, performing with a 70’s progressive rock cover band for 5 years. Parallel to their musical journey, he pursued a Ph.D. in computer science and built a career as a Senior AI Engineer, which gives experiences that deeply inform his music. Influences include Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, as well as the spiritual undercurrents of tribal music traditions and the speculative visions of Black Mirror and Kazuo Ishiguro.
Yürüten is currently composing a full soundtrack for his upcoming book of speculative short stories. His vision is to merge music and narrative into a single immersive universe. Fans of cinematic ambient, tribal-infused experimental music, and neoclassical soundtracks will find in his work a unique blend of technical precision, emotional depth, and speculative storytelling.
