Joe Jackson, has been creating hybrid electronic sounds since 2007 but only releasing music since 2017 under the alias Open Spaces. Using a blend of electronic equipment and Ableton Live, the sound is inspired by dance floor euphoria, late night kitchen sessions, moments of motivation, lazy sundays and life’s random melancholy.
The Open Spaces sound doesn’t stick with one genre but instead it is designed to ebb and flow across the whole Electronic Music spectrum and its many sub genres. The range includes Lofi House, Garage, Techno and Downtempo.
The main inspirations for this project come from the likes of Fourtet, Jamie XX, Aphex Twin, Daphni, DJ Seinfeld, DJ Koze, Floating Points, Mount Kimbie and Joy Orbison and Brian Eno.
