Oriental Cravings (OC) is a project born through a mutual hunger for good music and food. Perth locals Quincy Patti and Yujin Choong, hailing from Indonesia and Malaysia respectively, have cooked up a storm in the Australian electronic scene with their sublime melodies and distinct Asian-inspired influence. Their breakthrough came in 2017 with the single ‘Nomad (feat. Luna May),’ which clocked over 240k listens on Spotify and skyrocketed to #4 on Canada Viral top 50 chart. Chasing the momentum, the duo teamed up with Aussie producer Axen on their next track ‘Falling 4 You,’ showcasing Quincy’s vocals and subsequently amassing over 100k plays on Soundcloud. Their most recent banger, an unofficial remix of RL Grime’s ‘Stay For It’, saw them collaborate with fellow Perth producers TWERL. The track yielded incredible feedback from the likes of Alison Wonderland – the first to play the remix at EDC Las Vegas 2017 – and RL Grime himself, who dropped the track at Splendour In The Grass 2017.
Not afraid to push boundaries, OC’s delicious synths and experimental beats have made them hot ones-to-watch within the local electronic scene. If their Soundcloud and Spotify plays are any indication, OC are here to stay – and plan to keep serving rich tunes that’ll have us asking for seconds.
