Origin One is a prolific producer, songwriter and DJ from Nottingham, focusing on sound system–driven music including dub, reggae, dancehall, dubstep, drum and bass and jungle.

He began in the early 2000s with Nottingham’s Rubberdub Crew, playing free parties and warehouse events before co-founding PNG Records, a 140 dubstep label. His sound is rooted in bass weight and sound system culture.

From 2010, he explored dub, reggae and dancehall, producing for leading vocalists and releasing on labels such as Nice Up!, Scotch Bonnet, Born on Road and Tru Thoughts, while performing across the UK and internationally.

He has worked with artists including Soom T, Bru-C, Irah, MC Spyda, Charlie P, Gardna, Aziza Jaye, Cheshire Cat, Dread MC, Devilman, Killa P, Inja, Emily Makis, XL Mad, Nanci Correia and Snowy.

As a DJ, he has played Boomtown, Shambala, Bestival, Outlook Festival, Subdub and Rumble in the Jungle, plus shows in Croatia, Italy and Japan.

His music has gained strong radio support across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 6, Kiss FM, Kool FM and Rinse FM, championed by David Rodigan, Don Letts, Huey Morgan and Charlie Tee.

Recently returning to his jungle roots, he has released on Bushdoctor Music alongside Jumping Jack Frost and Ray Keith, while building his own imprint with artists like Cheshire Cat and Snowy.

Today, he runs DTR Studios in Nottingham, lectures at NTU, and continues to perform DJ and live sets.
