ORISUN (pronounced OR - REE- SHOON) are a star-crossed duo based in Chicago. These punky queer partners first used quarantine as an opportunity to develop their musings to culminate in an EP, THIS IS ORISUN. The pair’s clear indie rock and post-grunge sensibilities are illustrated more intensely in their full length project, “VISCERA!,” a group of sonic spells expressing the horror of embodiment in the lives of trans and Black people living in a dystopian reality. ORISUN seek to reclaim rock and alternative music for these marginalized peoples, and challenge their underrepresentation in the genre(s).
