Rochester, NY's Orodruin take their name from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and their sound from Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, and Candlemass' doom-laden legacies. Beginning in 1998, Mike Puleo (vocals, bass), John Gallo (guitar), Nick Tydelski (guitar), and Mike Waske (drums) began compiling demos and live performances onto their résumés, culminating in 2003's Epicurean Mass debut album, released by independent Psychedoomelic Records. The aforementioned demos were compiled into the following year's Claw Tower...and Other Tales of Terror collection, and Orodruin were also heard on a split release with Finnish doom gods Reverend Bizarre, but with the exception of a 2007 DVD release called The World Is a Funeral, nothing else has since been heard of the band. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
