Orphia

Orphia is Yoann Larrieu.

The name "Orphia" was chosen in reference to Greek mythology.

Orpheus (notably) was a poet and lyre-player whose melodies were so profound and contagious they would even attract all the forest animals, gathered close in harmony to listen...
Orphia means to represent and depict various emotions ranging from joyful moods to dark and eerie sections, to sadder melancholic moments, epic themes...all in the mold of progressive rock/metal.

On the album "Fables of a Consciousness" instruments include the traditional clean voice with guitars, bass and drums: while blending with pianos, keyboards, various synths, flutes, strings and some samples.
The point is to write epic structures of song; technical when needed, simple otherwise; that go beyond the mere, over-zealous demonstrative styles of progressive, and rather mount a creation of mature song-writing - telling a tale.

Massive rhythm sections, single-note riffage, leads, harmonies and complex song-structures and time signatures await. This is the ripe product of a mind that's dwelt in both metal and rock long enough to attempt to mingle the best of both worlds.
