Orteez

Hailing from Puerto Rico, Orteez began his musical journey at 17, diving into electronic music production in the early 2000s. His exploration of genres like ambient, house, jungle, and drum and bass, combined with his Afro-Caribbean roots, has shaped his unique sound. Exposed to salsa, bolero, and reggaeton from an early age, his music reflects the rich cultural tapestry of his homeland. Adopting the name “Orteez” in 2011, he began collaborating with local labels such as Proper Slap, Golden Pineapple Records, and Santurce Recordings for his first official releases. With a mastery of sampling, he weaves jazz, reggaeton, hip-hop, and boleros into a distinct sonic signature that sets him apart. This talent has propelled him to the forefront of the music scene, leading to performances in renowned venues, clubs, and festivals. He has also produced tracks for top Latin artists like Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, Alvaro Díaz, and Villano Antillano. Orteez continues to refine his sound through global collaborations, solidifying his status as a rising star in both the Latin and electronic music scenes.
