Drawing from the slick sound of 1980s dance-pop acts like Nu Shooz and Prince (and in the process sounding a lot like contemporaneous acts like Junior Senior and Alphabeat), O'Spada formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2006 primarily as a vehicle for vocalist Julie Spada (aka O'Julie); rounding out the group's original lineup were keyboardist O'Chris, guitarist O'Karl, bassist O'Johan, and drummer O'Samuel. Having spent the first two years of their existence gigging around their native Sweden and recording demos, O'Spada landed a record deal with Despotz Records in 2008. The group subsequently made a bit of a splash in the media (notably from outlets like Fader, BBC Radio 1, and The Guardian) the following year with the release of its first two singles on that label, "Ten Strikes" and "Time." O'Spada's debut full-length was slated for release in 2010. ~ TiVo Staff, Rovi
