Other Dangers

Other Dangers is the brainchild of three of the most creative musicians currently alive in the universe: guitarist Mattia Brotto, bassist Paolo Campana and singer/drummer Daniele Telera. The trio met right at the tail end of 2022, and after a year of trial, tribulation and demoing they managed to release a single on the 25th of January 2024: Meatgrinder / Cupcake stands as the rock song archetype, with roaring guitar riffs, groovy basslines, pounding drums, and the sheer attitude channeled by Daniele's zany, at times dark lyrics about living in a society dominated by hypocrisy, corruption and fundementally evil ideologies. Other Dangers' sound is a blend of various different sonic palettes: the band draws from post hardcore bands such as Fugazi or At the Drive In, dance punk grooves from bands like Model/Actriz, grunge and metal riffing from bands like Soundgarden and Black Sabbath, but also from older genres such as blues, funk and jazz, all tied together by Daniele's comedic/absurdist lyrics and a subtle use of electronica, using a sampler and other various kinds of digital equipment. This melting pot of styles and genres, conversely to what one might think at first impressions, gives Other Dangers an oddly unique voice in today's musical landscape. All in all, considering their sound, love for DIY production and aesthetics, and revolutionary attitudes, Other Dangers stands as one of the most promising musical acts of the 2020s.
