Otomodatchi (Friends in Japanese) is the duo of Japanese singer Amiide and American rapper Jyodan, who emerged from Tokyo’s multicultural music community in 2022. Recording alternative hip-hop and R&B from Amiide’s bedroom studio, they debut their first single in March 2023. Although the duo formed in 2022, they met in 2016, and through 2018-2020, they were in a band called CIRRRCLE, which disbanded in December 2020. Despite the break up, Amiide kept working with Jyodan for her solo project ‘From The Top.’ The first single from the EP ‘Better Miss Me’ was featured on BBC 1Xtra in the UK. Amiide is currently based in London, and Jyodan is based in LA.
