Otto & I

Otto, from Otto & I, is a Portuguese-Peruvian, indie-folk, singer-songwriter whose life, travels, fears, hopes, dreams and genuine experiences are put on paper and turned into music!


Back in 2015, Otto went to see <a href="spotify:artist:14r9dR01KeBLFfylVSKCZQ" data-name="Damien Rice">Damien Rice</a> live in Lima, Perú and since then he has been constantly composing, trying to find himself on his music.


Otto spent the last couple of years living and traveling around different places of the world, such as Australia, Argentina, India, Sri Lanka, Perú and Portugal. Always trying to find himself and the place where he belongs. There is always a search for freedom in his music, fear and courage in taking risky steps but always looking at life in a positive way. Some of his biggest influences are <a href="spotify:artist:16oZKvXb6WkQlVAjwo2Wbg" data-name="The Lumineers">The Lumineers</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:3gd8FJtBJtkRxdfbTu19U2" data-name="Mumford &amp; Sons">Mumford &amp; Sons</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:6cSxzHrQgGc4I4Ck5Gewej" data-name="Sons Of The East">Sons Of The East</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5schNIzWdI9gJ1QRK8SBnc" data-name="Ben Howard">Ben Howard</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6tuPdaFPIytg3l2f51L7Hw" data-name="Ziggy Alberts">Ziggy Alberts</a>. Nevertheless, apart from that “happy-folk” vibe, Otto also has a deep, soul-scratching and sensitive side. He finds it amazing how artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:14r9dR01KeBLFfylVSKCZQ" data-name="Damien Rice">Damien Rice</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2FXC3k01G6Gw61bmprjgqS" data-name="Hozier">Hozier</a> are able to express so much with simple melodies sustained by brutally honest lyrics.


Otto puts the biggest effort on lyrics as he believes that “music is a channel that musicians are lucky to open to connect with people from all over the world. That’s why every word we put on the amount of time we are given is important. I believe in writing my heart out on paper, finding melodies that move my soul and sharing both of them with people who feel the same way.”
