Otto Wolters

Otto Wolters was a well-known German Jazz Pianist who was very influential in developing the Jazz scene in Germany as well as in developing new talented Jazz musicians. He collaborated in concerts with many German and internationally acclaimed jazz musicians.
His first two albums <a href="spotify:album:0JhzFIXWMxYrYtijvsrkMh" data-name="Boab">Boab</a> (with Otto Wolters Trio ) and <a href="spotify:album:5B65NEzPrQDoTMB6Qy1yZn" data-name="Innovation">Innovation</a> (solo) had not previously been digitally released. The album <a href="spotify:album:50LPVbck3E3UcMrYhkxior" data-name="Evergreen">Evergreen</a> (with <a href="spotify:artist:7n6OrSvgDK0scBo0z3hTLz" data-name="Michael Küttner">Michael Küttner</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0zXa4RKM4bKYAYltXIOzNv" data-name="Gunnar Plümer">Gunnar Plümer</a>), released in 1999, presents famous German melodies from 1930-1953 which the trio has very creatively and uniquely turned into modern jazz.
His last album, <a href="spotify:album:4srLy7xEguSxlYXQbWBFc6" data-name="Very Personal">Very Personal</a>, is a piano solo collection of his favorite tunes recorded for his 75th birthday in his characteristic jazz style.
His legacy is formed not only by his unique music, but also by his influence on so many of his students and friends who have become acclaimed jazz musicians.

Otto Wolters war einer der prägenden Musikern der deutschen Jazzsszene. Sein letztes Album <a href="spotify:album:4srLy7xEguSxlYXQbWBFc6" data-name="Very Personal">Very Personal</a> ist eine Sammlung seiner Lieblingsstücke die er zu seinem 75 Geburtstag veröffentlicht hat.
Sein vielleicht größter Einfluss war jedoch durchs Unterrichten, erst an der Musikhochschule Hannover und später an der städtischen Musikschule in Braunschweig sowie auch viele andere Schüler die jetzt bekannte Jazzmusiker sind.
