Ouro Boar is a 12 piece funk and afrobeat band from Shreveport, LA. With influences ranging from Fela Kuti, Antibalas, and Budos Band to James Brown, the Meters, and Curtis Mayfield, Ouro Boar blends traditional afrobeat rhythm with 60’s and 70’s funk. Heavy percussion, along with polyrhythmic guitars and bass, lay a deep groove foundation for gigantic, often times sinister, horn lines. Ouro Boar’s main message is love, understanding, and equality. Taking every opportunity lyrically to fight oppression, Ouro Boar provides the extremely danceable soundtrack to the revolution. Their first LP, Low Down, Dirty Crook, will be available on vinyl along with download summer 2019.
