London-based artist Oxime, also known as Cecilia Weckstrom, crafts liquid drum & bass as sonic medicine – blending atmospheric soundscapes with jazz, soul, and organic warmth.
Oxime's signature sound fuses electronic precision with acoustic humanity: rolling basslines that ground you while ethereal pads lift you skyward, like stargazing with a pulse. She layers synthetic textures with piano, guitar, and live instruments, creating tracks that capture the sensation of flight while keeping one foot on the dancefloor. This is music designed to fuel deep creative work, power your next run, or soundtrack your journey – wherever it takes you.
Her path as a self-taught producer began in Finland, programming a Commodore 64 to play classical melodies. This early fusion of technology and musicality evolved when Cecilia moved to London in the '90s, immersing herself in the liquid drum & bass revolution. Influenced by pioneers like LTJ Bukem, Fabio & Grooverider, Big Bud, and DJ Marky, as well as the textural explorations of Bonobo, Four Tet, and St Germain, Oxime found her unique space, where 170 BPM feels meditative, where synthetic meets organic.
The name Oxime comes from the chemical antidotes to nerve agents, perfectly capturing music's role in Cecilia's life: the balance to chaos, the antidote to whatever life throws at you, a way to recharge and restore.
