Singer-songwriter OYEOL’s name means “To Color the Brightness” in Korean. She describes herself as a "Talking Singer" with a strong desire to deliver powerful messages to large audiences and transform dark moments into light through her unique songs. She sets no limits on music genres and always has the passion to explore and express her true self.
In previous years, OYEOL was selected as the “Rookie of the Year” by the EBS program “Hello Rookie with KOCCA” and was a showcase artist at MU:CON in 2019. After serving as the resident musician at Seoul’s cultural space “Platform Changdong 61” in 2020, she released her second EP, “Hangang Train,” in 2021 with sponsorship from the SFAC (Seoul Foundation of Arts and Culture). She also participated in Naver’s live session project “ONSTAGE 2.0.” Her latest TV appearance was on the second season of JTBC's hit competition program “Sing Again” as “Singer No. 53.” The video of her performance on YouTube has garnered over 1.5 million views.
The latest EP “ㅅㅏㄹㅁ (SARM)” focuses on OYEOL’s observations, breakdowns, and analyses of the Korean word “삶,” meaning “life.” She attempts to present the grand concept of "life" in a light and witty manner. She hopes this album comforts you like open ARMS when you're struggling and takes you to MARS when you're excited. May this album be the ASMR for your SARM.
