Oyisse infuses the pulse of Congo into contemporary afrobeats as an artist, while producing under the name Wald Beatz. Raised in Bukavu, he moved to Uganda in 2012 to pursue his music passion, inspired by legends like Franco and Tabu Ley.
Teaching himself production at 17, Wald Beatz later joined Nyege Nyege as an in-house producer and engineer. He graduated with degrees in Music Business and Audio Engineering.
In 2023, Wald Beatz produced, mixed, and mastered the full original soundtrack for the film The Last Shoe Maker, blending modern and traditional African influences.
As an artist, Oyisse released his debut Elombo EP on Nyege Nyege Tapes in 2021, produced by Wald Beatz. He aims to unite African musical tradition with boundary-pushing contemporary beats.
