P the Prophet

P The Prophet initially gained recognition for being one-half of the Ohio based hip hop duo GTC (Grind Time Central), alongside his longtime friend and fellow rapper Cognac Jones. They are perhaps best known for being the Ohio Hip-Hop Award Winners for Best Group, as well as their single "Grind Til I Get It" which caught the attention of former Atlantic Records A&R and now Senior VP of A&R for Interscope Records Sickamore, who brought them into his Artist Development Company, The Famous Firm. Now a solo artist, P The Prophet is looking to write his own story.
The former GTC member is known for his razor sharp lyrics but credits himself as much more than delivering a fierce verse. “I would call myself a lyricist but I’m very creative vocally due to being in a group with a singer so I came up with a lot of melodic ideas. I’ve always prided myself on my lyricism but I’ve always known a song is about a message as well as a feeling” said P.
P The Prophet has performed at a number of venues and events in and outside of Dayton including: The Russ Buss Tour, Patchwerk Studio’s “I Do Music” Showcase, and The Ohio Hip-Hop Awards.
