Päivän keitto is an ongoing musical collaboration project that was conceived in the winter months of 2016. Essentially it's a home recording hobby. I called my closest musician friends and asked if they'd like to contribute to my new songs. They said yeah.
Because we live in diaspora and have busy lives, I chose a straightforward home recording method. I record some basic tracks, maybe just guitar and vocals, and share them with the group. They arrange and record their own parts and send them to me. I mix them. I told my friends that it's a free playground, play whatever you like. The group has experience from a broad variety of musical genres, such as folk rock, classical, heavy metal, jazz, traditional Irish, punk, just to name a few. We've been publishing a new song weekly for over a year now.
We're still having fun!
