PANIC was an Amsterdam-based punk band that toured the Netherlands from 1976 through 1978. In 1978, as one of the few punk bands at the time, they recorded an LP (entitled “13”). In its heyday, PANIC was well known for its energetic, chaotic performances attended by a sizeable cult following. Forty-somewhat years later PANIC has released three new recordings of live performances in 1978. Two concerts were taped in the iconic Amsterdam concert hall PARADISO, a haven for punk bands at the time. The third release is a recording of their performance in the famous CBGB Theatre in New York.
- KEIHARD EN SWINGEND SESSIE, Live in Paradiso (Extremely loud and Swinging Session, Live in Paradiso) contains tracks of PANIC made during a recording session organized by the Dutch music magazine OOR on February 12, 1978 in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
- The PANIC LIVE AT CBGB THEATRE concert was recorded by WPIX FM Radio on July 6, 1978, and broadcasted on July 8, 1978. With sincere thanks to Joe Piasek, former program director of WPIX FM Radio.
- PANIC ON FIRE! was captured during what some consider the final stage performance of PANIC during the Rock Against Racism night in PARADISO in Amsterdam, on November 22, 1978. Singer Peter ten Seldam appeared on stage dressed as Santa Claus, with fireworks tucked under his costume. The ignition caused mayhem, clearly audible on the recording, creating a lively atmosphere as he was performing with his outfit catching fire in typical punk fashion.
