Paola Bruna is a Swedish artist, singer and DJ. She was born in Chile
and grew up in Dalarna in the mid of Sweden.
She's got a MFA (Master of Fine Arts) degree from Konstfack in Stockholm
and as an artist she's mainly had separate exhibitions both during her
education and after.
Paola was frequently DJing all over Sweden but mainly in Stockholm city
between 1998 and 2008.
During a couple years she sang and toured with <a href="spotify:artist:0GTaum09ogUQOSBwcLzXVt" data-name="Moder Jords Massiva">Moder Jords Massiva</a> and
<a href="spotify:artist:3gqv1kgivAc92KnUm4elKv" data-name="Teddybears">Teddybears</a>, although her musical background comes from jazz.
In 2001 her first solo album, <a href="spotify:album:4jonMhcS2z7Td2d2T1C101" data-name="Stockcity Girl">Stockcity Girl</a> released and was recieved
well in Sweden with nominations for both a Grammy and Aftonbladets "Rockbjörnen" as she toured the country with the album.
The video for the single <a href="spotify:track:47255J6RVeLChTqMZwfjDd" data-name="Above the Candystore">Above the Candystore</a> was directed by Jonas Åkerlund
and also featured in his movie "Spun". It won an award in the musicvideo genre
from Z-TV.
Her featuring on the song <a href="spotify:track:5N93hk1vAdIorXlYCiBYPv" data-name="Yours to Keep">Yours to Keep</a> from the album <a href="spotify:album:2vaE8vXhsN5d5gsnAN3C9T" data-name="Rock 'n' Roll Highschool">Rock 'n' Roll Highschool</a> by <a href="spotify:artist:3gqv1kgivAc92KnUm4elKv" data-name="Teddybears">Teddybears</a>, earned her a gold record.
Paola also recieved awards from the Chilean National Association aswell as P5 RadioStockholm in 2002.
In 2004 she was named "Best dressed female" by fashion magazine Elle.
During a couple of years, Paola was the host of Sveriges Radio Metropol.
She earned a new title in 2016: Ateljerista at the Reggio Emilia Institute.
Her present occupation is as an art teacher alongside her artistic and music collaborations.
