Paper Crowns are a Bath and Bristol based Post Punk/Jazz band. The group has evolved over the years with differing members and sounds to eventually land in the sandy tropics of Bath with six members. Hannah Kilgore on Lead Vocals, Oliver Wood on Guitar and Vocals, Alex Stewart on Guitar and Vocals, Daniel Reynolds on Drums, Alex Thomas on Bass and Isaac Thomas on Sax and Percussion. The band's members bring a variety of influences that come through subtly with every track. However, they all share a love for the convoluted world that is Jazz music and take after the recent developments and left turns of the genre that has brought us the likes of Black Midi, Squid, Black Country New Road and many others. With the busyness of six instruments all playing at once, the sound of Paper Crowns adopts a high level of intensity and calculated dissonance that makes for songs with ominous build-ups, crazy time signatures, anxty lyrics and overall dynamic ambiguity.
