Vocalist and guitarist Dean Ince has been playing and writing music since his school days, and bass guitarist Matt Ladbrooke has been by his side every step of the way. There is no Paperfriend without one or the other, as the band is defined by their brotherly like bond.
The band are a completely DIY band and not only do they write all their own music, they also record, produce, mix and master their songs themselves.
Paperfriend had their first play on BBC Introducing in 2026 to add to their other accolades of being featured on Alt Press and supporting Vukovi. The BBC Introducing play sums up Paperfriend’s hard working nature and never-say-die attitude.
