Paraísos

It all starts with a drop. A drop of moist feeling that transpires from my chest intro the air when you leave, quickly evaporating into the sky, condensing into clouds of unspoken words, unknown feelings, unreachable clarity. A place where things are lighter than what they seem to be, a place where the cold brings us closer together.

Then it drops. Like a song that comes out of you and you don’t know where it came from, like drops of rain that fog your vision, muffle your hearing, change the way your skin feels against the air. I know you have to go.

And that drop turns into a storm, with lightning thoughts of thunder and swirling hurricanes of unanswered questions and confusion that make me feel weak and make me miss you more. I miss you. Come back.

But sometimes the rain is comforting, gently guiding me to look inward, reflecting shimmering light into my room, like a hug, a hug with rivers of drops replenishing my body, soaking into me, flowing like these songs that bring you closer to me, sustain me and nourish me back to life. Stay here forever.
