After a 20-year hiatus from the music industry, veteran Reggae Musician Paranoid returns with “Above and Beyond.” Within the song, the listener can hear Paranoid’s personal and creative evolution within Jamaica’s vibrant reggae scene, which is a colorful, celebratory community where live stage shows are the preferred source of entertainment. Paranoid who is fortunate to be Jamaican, is free to sing about life’s challenges, love and loyalty. “After I left music, I worked in construction and no matter the weather I had to get up and go out there to support my family. One day I was working on a in Alabama in winter, it was so cold that I had to seek shelter in a portable toilet to get some warmth. I found myself speaking out aloud and relieving thoughts that were in the corners of my mind. I realized the music was calling me back. I left construction, isolated myself in a cabin in Alabama in the middle of winter and began to write. Paranoid was born in Clarendon, Jamaica and grew up in Cassia Park, Kingston where he was surrounded by music legends such as Dean Fraser, Lloyd Parks, Beres Hammond and Junior Reid. His popularity soared in the early 1990s where he was inspiration in launching the musical career of Tarrus Riley and Lavaska.
