Paraphilia

Death metal duo Paraphilia emerged from the Pacific Northwest in 2021 with the self-released <a href="spotify:album:237yH9ZnTKGt4f3P1pVNP2" data-name="Primordium of Sinister Butchery">Primordium of Sinister Butchery</a> EP. After a prompt reissue by the Portuguese label Brutal Cave Productions, the band began work on its debut full-length, The Memory of Death Given Form.

Formed by SP and KRP (<a href="spotify:artist:4omuwE5Aml9XeCwzs5ggSI" data-name="Maestus">Maestus</a>, ex-<a href="spotify:artist:5YfHJNxSzLlufwrHg3RLFy" data-name="Pillorian">Pillorian</a>, ex-<a href="spotify:artist:3Xm8nTqMT3ZJUpGTtSBaKw" data-name="Arkhum">Arkhum</a>), Paraphilia “marries frenzied hornet-swarm fretwork and titanic, pile-driving brutality” (No Clean Singing). MetalSucks described it as “the sickest death metal band you’ll hear today, this week, this month, and maybe even this year,” with GBHBL adding that the debut EP showcased “utter carnage” of the “face-melting and vomit-inducing” variety.

The Memory of Death Given Form is six original songs and a cover of <a href="spotify:artist:7eYmDBinb760MUIfoRdlGQ" data-name="Bloodbath">Bloodbath</a>&#39;s classic “Eaten.” It was engineered in Portland, Oregon, by SP with mix/master handled by Floor van Kuijk (Korpse, Anal Stabwound) at GLDCHN Studios with art designed by the band.
