Redlands-based guitarist Eric Parkes has lived on the west coast since moving from New York City to study guitar at the University of Redlands. In his senior year, he began playing with four local musicians as part of the blues/rock band The Family, before co-founding southern rock/jam band All Marbles. In their years performing together, All Marbles has put out two studio albums alongside live releases and played in venues throughout southern California, collaborating with and performing alongside blues, rock, alt-country, and reggae-influenced bands. During his time playing with All Marbles, Parkes also released two solo albums and performed locally with singer-songwriter Matt Coleman, Coleslaw, and the Inland Empire All Stars.

While unable to be in the studio or performing with All Marbles over the past several months, Parkes resumed writing and recording on his own, and in the fall of 2020 released the southern jam rock-influenced album Complete Frogs.

Parkes is releasing a second self written and recorded album, The Dead Bee King, on April 30th 2021. It is loaded with deep funk-rock jams, traditional rock songs and some organic acoustic sounds. The title track tells the story of the Dead Bee King who reigns over a kingdom of dead bees after an apocalyptic event. No longer wanting to rule and bored with royal life he stews and desires a different life that he has no chance of achieving.
