PARTYPOOPER is the project of singer/songwriter Mark Bridgeman (This is Franco, Bridge, SUR). Originally from Victoria, PARTYPOOPER now resides in Telkwa, BC. PARTYPOOPER’s sound features some serious lo-fi bedroom vibes that notably call attention to Bridgeman’s meandering, insightful lyrics paired alongside smooth in-studio production.
His travels have taken him around the world. He has busked in subways. He likes Pina Coladas and Jimmy Buffett. He has seen Bob Dylan three times. Van Morrison only once. After stumbling through the Pyranees he found himself at home with a few glasses of rosé. He wears shorts even in the winter. Often he is caught not wearing socks or a warm toque. He watches the snow and hopes that spring doesn’t arrive. He is a nomad by appetite but also in his search for his shoes.
PARTYPOOPER’s first release Blown Away (2017) was recorded in New Westminster B.C. It was received warmly by those ‘in the know.’ He was fortunate enough to play the Alianait Music Festival (Iqaluit, Nunavut) after the release. This year, PARTYPOOPER is back with two new singles Same Damn Thing and People Don’t Change. Both tracks were recorded in his dingy basement in Telkwa as well as at Blue Light Studios in Vancouver with the help of longtime producer, co-owner of Blue Light Studios and now Smol Dog Records labelmate, JP Maurice.
