"Variaciones y Visiones" is a musical journey through the sonic and aesthetic universe of Patricia Ligia.
This project opens a portal into her inner world—variations on melodies that have accompanied her for years, reimagined through a lens that seeks to push the boundaries of the familiar and uncover new musical languages.
With a unique dialogue between styles, this work is a carefully curated pastiche, shaped with elegance and curiosity.
Each of the three pieces reveals a different facet of the artist, with rhythm and improvisation at the core, evolving organically and intuitively.
Patricia Ligia is an electric bass player, composer, producer, and touring musician from Montevideo, Uruguay.
She has performed on world’s most prominent stages as part of Colombian superstar Karol G’s band, including appearances on Saturday Night Live, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and sold-out stadium shows across the world with the “Mañana será bonito” tour. She has also toured internationally with Matteo Bocelli, playing arenas and concert halls throughout Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
In addition to her work as a touring musician, Ligia is an in-demand session bassist. Her recording and live credits include collaborations with GALE, Grupo Frontera (Tiny Desk), Ela Taubert (VEVO Sessions), and Micro TDH (Blackroom Sessions), among others. She co-founded and led the ensemble Mestizas, between 2018 to 2024.
