Breaking racial, cultural and generational barriers, Patrick began his ministry career—in earnest—as a writer/contributor on Fred Hammond’s GRAMMY award-winning album Free to Worship—and the following year was featured on Hammond’s 25th Anniversary Tour. Dopson has also worked alongside prominent gospel artists such as Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton, Bishop Marvin Winans, Ruben Studdard, Yolanda Adams, David & Tamela Mann, Hezekiah Walker, John P. Kee, and more. In '12 his first radio single, "Keep Me," became a Billboard Gospel hit and was nominated for a Stellar Award, 2 years later, "God Is," soared to the top of the Billboard charts.

About new single, "Make it Alright" (rel. 2/5/21) | After a year of racial turmoil and worldwide upheaval due to the COVID pandemic, Stellar Award-winner Patrick Dopson teams up with renown black gospel mainstay, and GRAMMY Award-winning artist John P. Kee on "Make it Alright." Both a prayerful plea for healing and unity, and a celebration for how God will be glorified through it all, this song has all the makings as a banner gospel prelude to 2021.
