boycowsky is a Polish singer and songwriter, currently based in Dublin, Ireland. His debut EP, Rural Legends, was featured on some of the top indie music blogs. ‘With this stunning blend of melodies and lyrics, he offers us a chance to listen to pop and folk come together and give life to something marvellous’ wrote Wolf In A Suit. ‘The vulnerable vocals and emotive lyrics combine with heart-tugging strings for an aesthetic arsenal reminiscent of Jens Lekman and Sondre Lerche’ added Obscure Sound. The EP invites the listener to the world of rural legends filled with laughter, sadness, hope and terror.
On his second EP, Gin Mill Club, boycowsky explores the alt-pop genre, mixing pop vocal stylings and soul-baring lyrics with the elements of electronic dance music. The lyrical themes range from the fear of addiction and alienation to seeking intimacy in all the wrong places. In their review of the EP’s title track, EARMILK wrote: ‘boycowsky's artistic vision pushes the boundaries of the alt-pop genre, making him a true trailblazer in the music industry.’ Writing about the EP’s third single, Obscure Sound said ‘boycowsky crafts a dark-pop engrossment on the new track “Boating,” whose haunting, dreamy composure elevates with its melodic and emotional core.’
