Through a long and varied career, Paul Wilkes’ musical output has taken many different faces. Whether authoring hauntingly beautiful acoustic ballads, or full-blown alt rock tracks, one thing has remained consistent across Wilkes’ catalogue; a carefully honed, intimate style of songwriting.

Having been lucky enough to work with an envious troupe of skilled musicians as the frontman of ‘Drunken Boat’, the driving force behind ‘Wilson Minds’, and with his own self-titled band ‘Paul Wilkes’, Wilkes’ music effortlessly glides across genres, reluctant to settle into an easily defined box.

Paul’s accolades are almost as varied as his musical output, including opening slots for acclaimed acts including Joan Armatrading, Nick Harper and The Zutons, alongside being the recipient of the Sinatra Songwriting Music Award. Wilson Minds’ debut album was produced by Chris Potter (The Rolling Stones, Blur, The Verve), and Wilkes’ music has been heard on stations spanning from BBC to Channel Four, from Netflix to Sky.

Despite these successes, Paul remains a fringe artist, relaying colourful stories with character and charm attained through years of practice. Paul’s next release ‘Revisited – I’ releases on September 29th 2023, and proves that even after 20 years, Paul is still happy in the corner of the party, watching the action from a safe distance.
