Paul Woolner is a Canadian Roots/Rock singer-songwriter whose music blends introspective storytelling with fingerstyle acoustic guitar, drawing comparisons to John Hiatt, Daniel Lanois, JJ Cale, and Wilco. Based in Ontario’s Beaver Valley, his songs explore memory, resilience, change, and the quiet beauty of everyday life, shaped by decades of experience as a musician, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner.
Woolner came of age in Canada’s 1970s folk scene, hitchhiking to Toronto’s Yorkville Village and performing across the country as a solo artist and frontman for the folk-rock band Kit Carson, sharing stages with artists such as Melanie and Jerry Jeff Walker. His latest work, Memory Like Water, marks a return to his acoustic roots, featuring warm, spacious arrangements produced by Thomas Mackay and recorded largely in his Beaver Valley home studio.
