A music hybrid whose eclectic soulful sound originates from Lagos, Nigeria. Paula. B is a Nigerian-American singer-songwriter who began singing and performing at an early age. With musical influences such as Sade, Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Maverick Sabre.
Paula spent her university days performing cover songs across University Cities in the UK before starting her professional music career by writing and recording her songs. She describes her music as a common language filled with love, purpose, and healing components.
Her first original EP produced the hit single "Years" on Soundcloud gaining her music popularity online and collaborations with other African musical artists such as MOJO AF, Ria Boss, July Drama, Joyce Olong
Followed by her debut album “HUMA” which gained listens from over 50 countries. Paula writes from a place she calls her “inner guardian” an adult version of herself giving voice to her inner child.
Her debut single of 2023 “Big Bitch” captures what it means to love oneself and appreciate the versatility of our bodies. As a licensed mental health professional, Paula attributes her expertise and being in therapy as the catalyst that helps her freely explore her intersecting identities through music.
Her upcoming sophomore album “What a Warrior Thinks” is set to be released in 2024 and is produced by her long-time music production collaborator Tha Beatsmith.
