Paulina Creola describes her artistry as unlimited. In her world freedom is the norm, and nothing is ever painted completely within the frame. Dividing her time between Cape Verde and Sweden since a child, Paulina felt gifted to be part of different cultures but sometimes also torn between the contrasts. The word Creola means “mixed” and is, except the ethnic group Paulina’s dad derives from, also the perfect metaphor for her as a person.

The creative process has always been Paulina’s comfort zone, when everything else in life has collapsed it’s been her therapy. She discovered music through jamming with her brothers and as a teenager she got drawn into the urban and contemporary dance scene in Stockholm, and since she’s performing as a dancer in several big TV-shows.

But when an opportunity to spend time in a recording studio presented itself, Paulina was completely absorbed by creating music. Her songs consist of unfiltered testimonials based on her own struggles and experiences as a young woman defying from the norm. Her sound has fragments of traditional West African music but it’s her close ties to the urban dance scene that has set the foundation for Paulina’s trap soul-inspired R&B.
