Pauline Koning is an ardent self-taught musician from the Netherlands who has fallen in love with Middle Eastern culture. A singer and Divine9 Dance Master Practitioner, she produces Arabic, Hebrew and Yemenite ethnic fusion music. And this exceptional trilingual talent gives her the feeling of singing in her mother’s tongue.
Not just a gifted and poetic musician, Pauline is also passionate about belly-dancing, North African dances, and Divine9 Dance thanks to the teaching of the Tunisian professor Kaouthar Darmoni. Her other influences also include the legendary Yemenite Jewish singer Ofra Haza, Yemenite Jewish Noa (Achinoam Nini) and the works of Umm Kulthum.
To date, she has showcased her talents on Holland's Got Talent as well as Egyptian prime-time national TV.
Pauline's vision is to shine a light on her diverse musical styles and influences. Constantly drawing on their roots she combines mystical prayers, melodies and rhythms with modern beats.
Pauline apprises, “I believe it is my calling from other lives. The music I create and make, is a way of making me whole again.”
