Paulo Massadas

Paulo Massadas debuted as a professional bassist in the mid-'60s in groups led by Lafayette and <a href="spotify:artist:2Pky4QuIXrFq6ZERGi4m1E">Lincoln Olivetti</a>. In the '80s, he became highly famous throughout the country for songs written with <a href="spotify:artist:3lF1WfwVjShSiYwJqhuZBb">Michael Sullivan</a>, such as "Um Dia de Domingo" and "Transas e Caretas." The first hit by the duo was "Me Dê Motivo," launched by <a href="spotify:artist:0jOs0wnXCu1bGGP7kh5uIu">Tim Maia</a> in 1983. In the same year, Massadas had success with "Meu Ursinho Blau-Blau" (with Sérgio Diamante), which was recorded by Absyntho and sold 350,000 copies. In 1985, <a href="spotify:artist:3lF1WfwVjShSiYwJqhuZBb">Sullivan</a> and Massadas wrote "Nem Morta," recorded with success by <a href="spotify:artist:0hPar6ePAELiu9rYMdvMEo">Alcione</a>; and "Whisky A Go Go," another hit, recorded by <a href="spotify:artist:2poCUrtJvVVgfA2hgri1IS">Roupa Nova</a>.
