Being the fourth generation in a family of musicians, I grew up surrounded by musical instruments. Taking after my father, drums became my favorite even before I got tall enough to reach the bass pedal, although intrigued by my mother’s practice, I also have a secret passion for singing that I am yet to show to the world :). While I was attracted by jazz from as long as I can remember, I grew up in a town in central Serbia, so my first public performances, from the age of 15, were with folk and gypsy music band which mostly played in weddings. By the age of 18 I managed to find a way to move to the capital city, Belgrade, and make a living by playing drums in a funk band called Richbitch. I discovered a whole new world in Belgrade, and was lucky to meet some outstanding and passionate musicians who became my soulmates and without whom this first album of mine would not be possible. This was back in 2008, and we threw ourselves wholeheartedly into building up the Serbian jazz scene. Today I can proudly say that we have one.
