Pennell is a new and modern musical voice with a message of salvation and whole-hearted devotion to Jesus Christ. Pennell is comprised of frontwoman Emmaline Pennell and her husband/keyboardist Miles. Together they are the songwriters behind their self-titled debut album.
Emmaline was born and raised in Kailua-Kona, HI, and Miles in Lewistown, MT. After serving together in YWAM for five years, touring universities all across America, playing popular worship songs and seeing thousands of young adults saved, the Lord spoke to them in a dream. The message was profound and simple: It was time to record the catalog of songs God had given them. The new duo took a leap of faith and teamed up with acclaimed producer Gabriel Wilson (John Mark McMillan, Bethel Music, Martin Smith).
The result? Emmaline’s powerful vocals and convicting lyrics set to an epic rock n roll wall of Miles’s synths, massive drums, catchy hooks — and shockingly, no electric guitars.
Pennell has set out to make their mark on the world for the sake of the gospel with both their mission and their sound. As a result, they have written and recorded one of the more ambitious and eclectic debut Christian music albums in recent memory. Rarely is a band’s debut so musically and stylistically self-realized. Musical comparisons include Queen, Billie Eilish, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Marley.
