SOUNDS LIKE
If Chance the Rapper, Sam Hunt, Kanye West, and Walker Hayes got in a fight over the last Girl Scout Cookie.
BIO
Growing up in Monroe, Georgia, Pennington was drawn to music from an early age. The first two songs he ever learned were “Gangstas Paradise” by Coolio and “I Like It I Love it” by Tim McGraw. This explains why he can seamlessly blend the hip hop and country genres in a way that sounds genuine and not forced.
In high school, he paired up with Tyler Hubbard (of Florida Georgia Line ) to form a new sound that explored this even further. (If you know Florida Georgia Line, you know the impact they’ve had on pushing the bounds of the country music genre).
For the past 10 years, Pennington has co-written and produced with some of the best in the game. In 2022, he finally took a step from behind the board and released his first single “Stay In School” co-written with Walker Hayes (Fancy Like) and Andrew Jannakos (Gone Too Soon).
In 2023, Pennington makes his music about common experiences that easily connects with his fans and collaborators to show that we are more alike than the media portrays us to be.
