Pet Names

Pet Names is a Maryland-based duo that’s folk rock in the studio, and rock folk on the stage. Camila (guitar) and Maggie (bass) bring rich vocal harmonies and lively instrumentals to original songs and inventive covers. They draw inspiration across decades and genres, especially from their queer and women predecessors in music.

Hey Hi Hello is Pet Names' debut EP — independently written, recorded, and produced. In a glowing review, Washington City Paper wrote that their original songs "effortlessly pair early aughts indie sensibilities with classic rock."

Pet Names isn’t afraid to tear it all down and start over — after forgoing a sonically scattered first recording of the EP, they re-recorded, and in some cases re-wrote the songs with a live performance mindset. The instrumental intro tracks for each song honor the album’s “first pass,” featuring audio snippets from the original sessions.
