Most well-known for his position as the guitarist for <a href="spotify:artist:4C6mJ6VZtsBnwzGKZmmzeF">the High Llamas</a>, Pete Aves began his solo career with the recording of Fidelity in 2001. A noticeable departure from his <a href="spotify:artist:4C6mJ6VZtsBnwzGKZmmzeF">High Llamas</a> work, Aves steered clear of conventional songwriting wisdom and delivered a set of songs and laid the blueprint for Bystanding no less than a few months later. He then followed up with the unassuming but equally creative Downbeat in 2003. A Family Tree was released in 2005 on the Cherry Red imprint.~ Rob Theakston
