His name is Peter -Pieter in Dutch- , or as a musician, Pete Bregman. He was born in 1959 in Sydney, Australia. After spending his childhood near Utrecht, he has lived in Groningen, Friesland, and the northern part of Drenthe since the age of seventeen and considers himself a true Northerner.
Pete makes music—singing, playing guitar and harmonica. He also writes his own songs and performs them with his band, Honey Jar , or solo as a singer-songwriter. His songs are about friendship and family, about life, death, and the challenges of growing older. The more upbeat and energetic songs often find their way into the band's repertoire, while the melancholic, somber, and atmospheric ballads are usually performed solo or with a single accompanying musician. Occasionally, he weaves in a few covers. Every song tells a story.
His music is well-suited as a background for quiet reflection in an attic room, contemplating life (and death), or as a centerpiece in an intimate venue where the audience is expected to listen in silence. His songs can also add a special ambiance to exhibitions. Even in an outdoor, campfire-like setting, they find their place beautifully.
